Egyptian, XVIII Dynasty, Child's Chair, wood, ivory overlay, 28" H, 14 1/2" W, 15 1/2" Deep. Here is the chair used by Tutankhamun as a child. The white overlay on the backrest and the claws of the lion paws are ivory.
Egyptian, XVIII Dynasty, Crook and Flail, metal with glass 13 3/16" L. Crook and flail are the symbols often seen in representations of Egyptian kings. Evidence suggests that the flail here was the one actually held by Tutankhamun during his coronation at age nine.

Egyptian, XVIII Dynasty, Emblem of Anubis, gilded wd, alabaster, 65 3/4" H. This is one of a pair of identical emblems associated with Anubis, the patron deity of the embalming booth. The form wound to the pole represents an animal skin.

Egyptian, XVIII Dynasty, Felxible Bead Bracelet, gold faience, glass beads; 6 3/8" L, 1 1/16" W. This bracelet was taken from the right forarm of Tutankhamun. The eye-like symbol, carved if red carnelian, is known as the udjat and was one of the most popular amulets in ancient Egypt.
Egyptian, XVIII Dynasty, Floral Ungent Vase, alabaster 19 11/16" H, 12 9/16" W. This is the most elaborately designed of some fifty alabaster unguent vases recovered from the tomb. The motif is a combination of lotus and papyrus leaves.

Egyptian, XVIII Dynasty, King Upon a Leopard, guilded wood 33 11/16" H. The king protrayed riding a leopard refers to an incident in his imagined passafe through the underworld.
Egyptian, XVIII Dynasty, Leopard Head, gold with inlay 6 7/8" H, 6 5/8" W. An Actual leopard skin was found attached to this superb gold head. The eyes are made of translucent quartz and the inlay is colored glass.
Egyptian, XVIII Dynasty, Lion Unguent Jar, alabaster, 10 1/2" H, 4 7/16" Diam. Here a refreshingly naturalistic rendering of a recumbent lion surmounts an alabaster jar whose surface is illustrated with lively scenes of animals in combat.
Egyptian, XVIII Dynasty, Miniature Effigy of the King, wood 16 5/8" L, 4 11/16" W. Here the body of the king is represented lying on funerary bed at the completion of mummification. Two falcon wings are spread protectively across his stomach.

Egyptian, XVIII Dynasty, Model Boat, painted wood 8 1/16" H, 47 1/4" L, 6 7/8" Beam. This wooden boat may be a model of the craft used to carry mourners and treasure along the Nile to the King's tomb.
Egyptian, XVIII Dynasty, Model Folding Stool, ivory, ebony 13 9/16" H. The seat of this folding-type stool is a fancifully stylized imitation of a leopard skin. The ivory and ebony legs are in the form of duck heads.
Egyptian, XVIII Dynasty, Necklace with Vulture Pendant, gold, jewels, 2 9/16" H, 4 5/16" W. This representation of the vulture goddess Nekhbet was found between two inner layers of the mummy's bandages. In its talons it hold the hieroglyphic sign for infinity.

Egyptian, XVIII Dynasty, Ostrich Feather Fan, gilded wd, Handle 37 3/8 L, Palm 4 1/8 H, 7 1/4" W. The feathers held by this gold fan were plucked from ostriches killed by Tutankhamun. Emboasses on its face are scence commemorating the hunt itself.
Egyptian, XVIII Dynasty, Painted Casket, alabaster, 9 7/16" H, 13" L, 6 11/16" W. The box and lid of this casket are carved from a single piece of alabaster. The chest was found lying in the Ante-Chamber, the lid removed by robbers but its contents undisturbed.
Egyptian, XVIII Dynasty, Pectoral with Solar and Lunar Emblems, Chalcedony w gems, 5 7/8 H, 5 11/16" W. The sun-god is here repsented as a scarab of translucent chalcedony combined with the out-stretched wings of a falcon.
Egyptian, XVIII Dynasty, Pomegranate Vase, gold & silver alloy, 5 1/2" H, 4 1/2" Diam. The pomegranate, which is the motif of this gold-and-silver alloy vase, was introduced to Egypt just prior to the time of Tutankhamun during whose reign it was still regarded as a novelty.
Egyptian, XVIII Dynasty, Portable Chest, wood, 25" H, 32 11/16" L, 23 13/16" W. This beuatifully preserced piece is the only known example of a portable funerary chest. The carrying poles, visible here, are retractable.
Egyptian, XVIII Dynasty, Shawabty Figure, wood 18 7/16" H. This wooden statuette shows Tutankhamun wearing a blue khepresh crown and clutching the symbols of his office, the crook and the flail.
Egyptian, XVIII Dynasty, Squatting Figure of a King, gold 2 1/2" H. This solid gold figure of the youthful Tutankhamun was found wrapped in linen inside a minature coffin. His right hand holds a crook and flail, the symbols of kingship.
Egyptian, XVIII Dynasty, Standing Lion Jar, alabaster, 20 5/8" H, 7 3/4" W. This delightful alabaster unguent jar was found in the Annex, its crown lid lying nearby on the floor where it had been left by thieves.
Egyptian, XVIII Dynasty, Stopper from Canopic Chest, alabaster 9 7/16" H, 7 7/16" Deep. The alabaster figure of a head shown here was also found within one of the minature coffins. It served as a stopped for a jar containing one of the king's bodily organs.
Egyptian, XVIII Dynasty, Sun God on a Lotus, ptd. Wd. 11 3/16" H. This painted wooden head shows the features of Tutankhamun, here portrayed as the sun-god emerging at birth from the sacred blue lotus.
Egyptian, XVIII Dynasty, the God Ptah, guilded wood 20 3/4" H. Ptah, the patron deity of artists and craftsmen, was the principal god of Memphis, a capital of ancient Egypt. The skull cap is of blue faience and the eyes and brows are inlaid with glass.
Egyptian, XVIII Dynasty, The wood from which this ornate stool was made of is thought to be acacia, one of the few Egyptian timbers suited for furniture-making.
Egyptian, XVIII Dynasty, Triple Lamp, alabaster, 10 5/8" H, 10 5/8" W. This delicately carved lamp of alabaster depicts a lotus plant growing from the bed of a pond.
Egyptian, XVIII Dynasty, Trumpet w Stopper, metal w gold overlay, 19-7/16" L, 37 3/8" Diam. Of the three trumpets that have come down to us from anciet Egypt, two are from Tutankhamun's tomb. Juding from the inscriptions on the bell, this pair was used for marshalling troops.
Egyptian, XVIII Dynasty, White Lotus Chalice, alabaster 7 3/16" H, 11 1/8" W, 6 5/8" Deep. Carved if a single piece of alabaster inlaid with blue hieroglyphic insriptions, the bowl of this delicate chalice is cut in the form of a single bloom of the white lotus.
