Author Bio
I'm a student at Nova Southeastern University, studying biology with the goal of becoming a Physician Assistant. I have a love for the visual arts and a passion for science. I hope to one day become exceptional in my career, and continue to interpret the world around me as I experience life. This piece was created at the height of my rekindled love for art. While completing a summer internship on a tilapia farm, where I studied the genetics and techniques behind selective breeding in aquaculture, I became captivated by the fish themselves. I began to notice the intricate details of tilapia, their unique features, their adaptations, and the defense mechanisms they had developed. What once seemed like an ordinary, boring fish became a source of wonder. I painted this piece as a parting gift for the company’s owner, expressing my newfound appreciation for the species.
