Nicole Gomez is a multimedia artist with a focus on textile art. She likes to investigate themes of femininity, nostalgia, and family, while presenting an overall mood of comfort and calmness in her artwork. She enjoys incorporating textiles into her work because not only does it help establish the mood of comfort due to its soft and delicate material, but it also holds personal meaning to her. Fabric and thread have a strong connection to the prominent female figures in her life, who are her mom and grandma. This ties back to her themes of femininity, nostalgia, and family. That is why she feels so drawn to using it in her artwork. Through her work, she hopes to bring memories of her family and childhood to life and to have people relate and connect to the art that she is making and the stories that she is telling.
