Description

Popular books and media routinely misrepresent Time Out and its role in contemporary child behavior therapy. This webinar will attempt to correct this narrow view of behavior therapy and replace it with a more sophisticated and dynamic model capable of appealing to a broader cross-section of consumers of mental health services for children and families. We will review the popular anti-time out arguments, e.g., it re-traumatizes, it's shaming. We also will review other roadblocks to the acceptance of time out procedures, such as governmental barriers. Dr. Reitman will also review the empirical findings on this controversy.
