Abstract
Environmental conditions for the production of astaxanthin from Haematococcus pluvialis is illustrated in this comprehensive literature review. Naturally produced astaxanthin is becoming more viable with today’s advanced technology. The effects of cultivation methods, media, light, nutrients, aeration, salt, temperature, pH, and ultrasound on H. pluvialis were examined to provide insight on the optimal ways to grow and produceastaxanthin naturally for commercial production.
