Abstract

Review the coral diseases that are currently affecting today’s reefs. Assess the occurrence (incidence at population and community levels) and geographic location of coral and octocoral diseases and syndromes across the wider Caribbean.

Review current methods applied to coral disease studies and investigate factors that enhance or affect coral reef diseases.

Describe the current disease management tools in the Caribbean as well as conservation efforts applied to coral reefs.

Discuss the future of coral disease research and infer on the emerging diseases worldwide and its implications.
