Abstract
The purpose of this paper is to: 1. Review the current wetland identification and delineation techniques used in the United States, Canada, Central America, and the Caribbean, 2. Identify problem areas regarding wetland management strategies stemming from the various wetland identification and delineation techniques used in these regions, and 3. Summarize national and international wetland protection efforts of the United States, Canada, Central America, and the Caribbean regions and present ideas for consolidating the various wetland definitions and delineation techniques in order to improve the current wetland management strategies.
