Dr. Schmitt’s classes were some of the most essential classes into building my understanding of biological principles. These principles are constantly applied in many physiologic principles of medicine and must be known in order to understand pathologic processes. Even something as simple as the sodium potassium pump is essential to understand the function of the cardiac action potential and the related pharmacologic agents. An understanding of the molecular processes taught by Dr. Schmitt is essential to understand the function of the body. So, my recommendation is to pay attention in class as you will need to know this stuff in the future!
