Pei-Fen Li, Ph.D., faculty in the Department of Family Therapy (DFT) in NSU’s College of Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences (CAHSS) presented at the 4th International Forum on Marriage and Family Therapy, held at Hangzhou Normal University, Hangzhou, China.

Li presented a quasi-experimental design study, entitled, “Brief Therapy: Solution Talk with Parents of children with Autism in Taiwan.” It was conducted to evaluate if Solution Focused Brief Group Therapy (SFBGT) significantly enhances a wide range of coping strategies and decreases parenting stress for parents of children with Autism in Taiwan. She also highlighted the SFBT guidelines for developing a group treatment manual and discussed challenges and accommodations for working with this unique clinical population in Chinese culture. Chiang Ching-kuo Foundation granted this project for International Scholarly Exchange in Taiwan.
