About the Presenter
Dr. Karin Crenshaw, Ph.D., is the Crime Lab Unit Manager for the Serology/DNA Unit at the Broward County Sheriff's Office in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. With over 22 years of experience in Forensic DNA, Dr. Crenshaw has worked in both private and public laboratories, processing hundreds of cases and testifying in courts across multiple jurisdictions.
Dr. Crenshaw earned her PhD in Biochemistry from Florida International University. She is a Fellow of the American Board of Criminalistics, a Certified ANAB Auditor, and a Level 1 Certified Forensic Manager. Her service includes membership on the SWGDAM committee, and she currently serves as an adjunct instructor.
Her research focuses on the collection and preservation of DNA for downstream processing. When not in the lab, Dr. Crenshaw indulges her passions for cooking and world travel.
