About the Artist
This photo captures Sunny Isles Beach in South Florida this past January. In the middle of our third year of medical school, between long clinic days and exam prep, my roommate and I decided we needed a break. We spent the evening cozy in our sweaters, reading by the water. Cool air loosened strands of our hair, and the rhythmic crash of waves lulled us into stillness. As sunset neared, a soft pink blush tinted the sky. This photo captures the peaceful moment that restored us just enough to return to our rotations on Monday with renewed focus.
