Artist Statement
This picture was taken during the medical mission trip to India and it is of a mother consoling her son. It represents the love and affection of a mother and her willingness to give everything to her child despite all of the challenges - and with a smiling face.

About the Artist
Bhavik Upadhyay is a First Year Medical Student.
I was born and raised in India and moved to United States more than a decade ago. Prior to starting osteopathic school I worked as a Physician Assistant at Arrowhead Regional Medical Center near Los Angeles. I’m passionate about international medicine and see myself as a Doctor working beyond borders one day. In addition, I love photography and most of these pictures were taken at the medical mission camp to India during winter break of 2015.
