Inductee Biography
Walter Banks is the owner of Lago Mar Resort and Club in Fort Lauderdale, FL. In 2003, he was named Florida "Hotelier of the Year" and has also received the Excalibur Award which is the top business award in Broward County.
Banks served as Chairman of the VISIT FLORIDA Board of Directors and Vice Chair of Florida Commission on Tourism. In December of 2011, he concluded his term on the Federal Board of Miami, a Branch of the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta.
