Technology and Teacher Education Annual, 1994
Description
NCATE is the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education, the foremost teacher accreditation agency in the United States. Since the International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE) has become a specialty organization under the NCATE umbrella, certain techologyeducation folios should be written as preconditions to an NCATE visit. Colleges seeking new and continuing NCATE accreditation for their education units will be required to meet new standards that include broad use of technology in teacher preparation programs. NCATE’s standards address four categories: I. Curriculum of Professional Education, II. Candidates in Professional Education, III. Professional Education Faculty, and IV. The Unit for Professional Education. Within the categories are standards; these are further refined into indicators.
