Abstract/Excerpt
The article discusses the proposed revisions to the personality disorders of the 5th edition of the book "Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders" (DSM-5). It offers information on the efforts of the American Psychiatric Association to integrate the existing personality disorder models. It highlights the procedures used by clinicians in identifying personality functioning including assessment of all levels of personality functioning, personality types, and trait facets.
