Artist Statement
This poem is about multiple people in my life who have mentored me and helped me grow up in a safe and loving environment. They taught me important values, skills, and life lessons that I will always carry with me. The older I become, the more grateful I am for them.

About the Artist
Alexandra Lens is a first year medical student attending the NSU Dr. Kiran C. Patel College of Osteopathic Medicine in Davie, FL. She is a south Florida native and NSU alum with a Bachelor's degree in Biology. In her spare time, she enjoys playing piano, painting, and storytelling in every form.
