Abstract

The transformative aspects of qualitative research offer meaningful alternatives to pedagogy. Spanish speaking students and instructor share their autoethnographic experiences when teaching/learning cultural and linguistic competence in Spanish in a family therapy master’s level course. Crossing the borders of the academia into the personal/cultural to bring up to date their hyphened identities will be discussed in tandem with their new discoveries evoked while writing and exchanging stories.
