Department of Family Therapy
Journal of Sexual and Relational Therapy
The theme of sexuality of older adults is rarely addressed by the healthcare professionals. In this brief overview, the authors offer some thoughts in regards to the sexuality of older adults, demonstrate that the sexuality is a lifelong need and illustrate the effect that different societal attitudes have so far on the behavior practiced by seniors in the expression of sexuality and intimacy. The authors provide several exercises to assist healthcare providers in assessing their position on the topic of sexuality in later life.
