Description

Dr. Boguslawski is an Assistant Professor in the Public Health Program in the Dr. Kiran C. Patel College of Osteopathic Medicine at Nova Southeastern University. She received her PhD in Health Behavior from Indiana University-Bloomington in 2018, and is a 2010 graduate of NSU’s Master of Public Health Program. Currently, Dr. Boguslawski teaches courses in both the Bachelor of Science in Public Health and the Master of Public Health program.

Prior to joining the faculty of the Public Health Program in KPCOM and her education from Indiana University, Dr. Boguslawski was a Health & Wellness Director of a statewide non-profit in Jackson, Mississippi that focused on obesity prevention at the K-12 school level. Through her work in Mississippi, Dr. Boguslawski developed a further passion for education policy and its influence on student health outcomes, which steered her in the direction of pursuing her doctoral degree. Her area of expertise and research is in the field of school health, specifically comprehensive school health education, obesity and chronic disease prevention, the Whole School, Whole Community, Whole Child Model, and K-12 education law and policy. Dr. Boguslawski has over ten years of experience working in the field of public health, including working in the clinical, non-profit, fitness, and academic setting. She has presented at numerous national to local peer-reviewed conferences, including the American School Health Association, the Education Law Association, the American Public Health Association, and the Southern Obesity Summit. A Michigan native, Dr. Boguslawski is a lifelong Detroit Tigers fan, but is glad to be back in South Florida where Polar Vortexes do not exist.
