Description
This piece is from one of Galban’s most prominent series: Les Fleurs du Mal. It shows significant influence from Spanish artist Joan Miró and conceptually represents a subtle environmental theme through a reversal of roles where flowers “de-petal” humans instead of the other way around.
Galban was the subject of a museum solo exhibition in Puerto Rico’s Museo de Artes de San German, as well as a solo exhibition in Miami’s Adrienne Arsht Center as the featured artist of the 2022 International Ballet Festival of Miami. This year he was the lead artist and co-curator of the prominent Flora & Fauna exhibition at Creative Pinellas in Largo, which secured funding from the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA). His work has been featured in several international books, Latin American television, and public art in Clearwater.
