"In October 1984, the Department of Art of the University of Chicago organized a symposium in celebration of the seventy-fifth anniversary of Frank Lloyd Wright's Robie house, a landmark building on the university's campus. Eight of the papers that were presented on that occasion have been revised and are published here; each of these offers fresh insight into Wright's achievement, particularly the relation of his professional practice and personal philosophy to nature.
