Abstract

Scientific writing or writing for publication is different from other types of writing. Scientific writing has a more formal tone with an economy of expression. Technical language and medical terms are allowed because they are more precise. The following topics will be covered in the presentation: organization of the paper, active versus passive voice, anthropomorphism, use of vague subjects, use of precise language (this, that, these, those, what), sentence structure, verb tense, and some common errors.
