Abstract

Reaction of molybdenum acetate with two equivalents of sodium diethyl dithiocarbamate in methanol results in the tetrakis-substituted Mo₂(dtc)₄ (dtc = dithiocarbamate). Exposure of this product to the atmosphere produces Mo₂O₃(dtc)₄.
