NSU Experience
The biology program at NSU provided me with a solid foundation for my Ph.D. education. Teaching methods used by professors at NSU allowed me to retain information, contributing to my success in graduate courses. Additionally, the opportunity to assist professors with scientific research at NSU greatly prepared me for conducting independent research. My advice for current students is to take advantage of as many opportunities as they can in undergraduate school. I started my undergraduate career pre-med. After being exposed to genetics research at NSU, I changed paths and decided to pursue a Ph.D. in genetics and genomics.
