Abstract
Metaphors commonly link something to a familiar representation. This paper applies a metaphor, dancing the night away, to a self-analysis in order to represent personal views of my individual and professional development of qualitative research acumen. I, also, specifically relate what I think qualitative research is and focus on two specific traditions, narrative and phenomenology. The overall learning processes and reflexivity is based on a journey throughout a qualitative research class.
