Here are some of Dr. Simonson's tips
1. introduce yourself to your instructor
2. get to know your instructor. Why not search and find out what the instructor has written?
3. Threaded discussions or forum. Be one of the first students to respond to the list of questions. Post several times in the same discussion. respond to the replies to your posts. Build the community of learners
4. be organized. print the syllabus, the scheduled events and the assignments.
5. be on time, not late or too early. Remember that each course needs about 8 to 10 hours per week.
6. Collaborate with classmates and get to know them, in person, by phone or online.
7. avoid plagiarism.
8. Used CLOSED BOOK NOTE TAKING. Close the book and make the notes. Then check that you got the sense of the passage.
