Abstract
The investigators conducted a need assessment. Study findings departed from the current health disparity literature but support recent findings. The objectives of this session are the following: 1. Discuss the current literature on Black seniors and physical Activity. 2. Describe the community based approach for fostering a partnership and motivation in the development of a physical activity program. 3. Compare the presenters’ need assessment study findings to the current literature. 4. Explain the use of the need assessment study findings for the physical activity program development. 5. Discuss the strategies necessary to promote physical activity among Black seniors.
