Has the vote of no confidence in academic leadership become more frequent in recent years? Some of our most recognized, award-winning and admired leaders have received a noconfidence vote. A new database suggests that votes often occur during labor negotiations, in times of significant change, and following major budget shortfalls and subsequent corrective actions. Is the vote of no confidence a significant event or the new normal on our campuses? A contrast among higher education sectors, demographic research into the community college sector votes, and likelihood of receiving a no confidence vote depends on a number of factors you need to know
