Philosophical Conceptions of Truth

This lecture provided a brief description and critical assessment of each of the four dominant theories of truth within the western philosophical tradition: the correspondence, pragmatist, coherence, and deflationary theories. Hibbs also discussed the relevance of the concept of “power” in developing a theory of truth.
