Dateline Health is NSU's public service show hosted by Fred Lippman, R.Ph., Ed.D, Chancellor of NSU Health Professions Division. Dateline Health is a 30-minute service program dedicated to promoting the community's overall health and well-being covering a wide range of contemporary health care issues through interviews with health care experts, researchers, and policy makers.
Airing on Broward Education Communication Network (BECON), carried by COMCAST and AT&T U-verse cable providers, Direct TV and Dish Network satellite and over air signals seven days a week throughout the tri-county area reaching 5.5 million households in the community.
Dateline Health has received multiple awards and was recently chosen as a People’s Telly Award Silver winner in the 35th Annual Telly Awards for excellence in the Health and Fitness video/film category. Dateline Health was a previous winner in the 29th and 33rd Annual Telly Awards.
Telly Awards is an international competition that receives over 12,000 entries annually from all 50 states and many foreign countries. The Telly Awards honors the very best film & video productions, groundbreaking online video content, and outstanding local, regional, & cable TV commercials and programs. It is a tremendous achievement to be selected for recognition.
Four Dateline Health programs have been recognized as winners promoting health and fitness: one show on pet therapy featuring Humane Society pets and volunteers, the gamma knife neurosurgery innovations, spinal surgery techniques, pain modulation therapies and joint preservation featuring prominent South Florida surgeons.
Dateline Health is produced by Health Professions Division and is taped on the main campus at the NSU studio under the production and technical expertise of the Office of Innovation and Information Technology.
