Description
Presented by the NSU Veterans Resource Center, Student Media & Student Mediation Services. There is an old saying: "You can't really understand another person's experience until you've walked a mile in their shoes." Formally referred to as, "Walk A Mile in Her Shoes: The International Men's March to Stop Rape, Sexual Assault & Gender Violence," this event asks men to literally walk one mile in women's high-heeled shoes. NSU's implementation of this event calls all members of our community to join in and aims to create a thought-provoking and playful opportunity to raise awareness through an exploration of the serious causes, effects, and remediations to sexualized violence against women. Not comfortable walking in high-heeled shoes? No worries! The NSU Veterans Resource Center will make combat boots available to those who prefer to march against violence in solidarity with the countless women who make up a significant portion of the U.S. military population.
