Proposal Description

People around the country are thirsting for safe, constructive ways to have conversations about their children’s education, without those conversations becoming angry and counterproductive. At the urging of several community dispute resolution centers, NAFCM and LRC created a toolbox to help school communities have those conversations and build trusting relationships to surface issues as well as solutions and best practices. This session will offer a quick introduction to the toolbox and present the impact that toolbox use can have. We will workshop with participants to identify what conditions are necessary to enable a school community to build or strengthen open, trusting communication. Presenters and participants will work with the toolbox to do some action planning for their home communities.
