Description
This photo was taken within Everglades National Park, during a field trip hosted by Dr. Hoch for his course “Everglades Ecology and Conservation.” This osprey was perched on a dead tree that stood around 15 feet tall. Weather conditions on this day were beautiful up until we reached Flamingo Bay, where we encountered this magnificent bird. Once we began observing this bird, weather conditions began to become cloudy, and it began to lightly shower. As we walked back towards our vans to leave the site, the rain became heavier, almost as if the osprey had summoned this storm upon us for disturbing its peace.
