Ben & Jerry Ben Cohen and Jerry Greenfield were childhood friends from New York. In 1977 Ben and Jerry completed a correspondence course on ice cream making from Pennsylvania State University's Creamery. Ben & Jerry's Homemade Holdings Inc., trading as Ben & Jerry's, is an American dairy company, founded in Burlington, Vermont, it is best known as a premium ice cream brand, founded in 1978.
