Abstract

This applied dissertation investigated whether a relationship existed between employee well-being factors and employee engagement. The research design was embedded with mixed methods. Employee well-being variables included reactions to the physical work environment, workplace friendship, and mindful attention awareness. Employee engagement variables included cognitive, emotional, and behavioral dimensions. Participants completed an online survey that responded to questions related to demographics, employee well-being factors, and employee engagement-related scales that quantitatively measured the variables. Also included in the survey, participants responded to qualitative related questions about the reactions of employee well-being factors offered and supported by their employer and how these reactions influenced their engagement at work. SurveyMonkey was the data collection tool utilized in the study.

The IBM SPSS was the data analysis tool utilized in the study. The quantitative data analysis discovered a positive correlation between employee well-being factors and employee engagement. The qualitative data analysis revealed an explanation for the quantitative data results. Integrating the quantitative and qualitative data provided a holistic view of the collected data. This study added to the body of knowledge and can assist employers and employees in comprehending reciprocity and relationships between employee well-being and engagement, which is essential for future research and organizational success.
