Therefore, this session will ensure student success, empower online faculty, redefine online faculty’s changing role, cultivate an educational teaching philosophy, incorporate a structural teaching methodology, and exemplify a multicultural teaching presence.

Abstract

In order to raise the bar for K-20, there is a need to provide online faculty with the necessary tools to remain relevant with emerging technologies. For that reason, it is important to review and analyze online faculty’s changing role, teaching philosophy, teacher’s self-efficacy, and emotional intelligence. Meaning, this session will empower online faculty, redefine online faculty’s changing role, cultivate an educational teaching philosophy, incorporate a structural teaching methodology, and exemplify a multicultural teaching presence. Additionally, this session will provide the necessary tools for experienced and novice online faculty to adopt best practices, ensure quality instruction, and enhance teaching presence. As a matter of fact, this session will expand upon the scope of faculty’s responsibility, explore the effectiveness of online resources, and foster a climate that is conducive for online learning. Particularly, this session will add value and provide the necessary tools for online faculty to remain relevant with 21st century technologies. Likewise, this session will provide essential tools for students that pertains to online faculty’s teaching approach and teaching presence. For instance, literature reveals that implementing a variety of teaching approaches promotes student learning. Additionally, incorporating a multicultural teaching presence ensures student participation, engages student-teacher interaction, and enhances student-student interaction. The intended audience consists of K-20 audience, faculty, administrative staff, instructional designers, online success coaches, higher education, and professionals in the distance learning industry in Florida.
