Objectives:

  1. To understand the impact of societal and cultural expectations on perfectionism and its effect on promoting Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) in our communities. This objective will help participants gain a deeper understanding of how societal and cultural expectations can shape our beliefs and behaviors, and how they can impact our ability to promote DEI in our communities.
  2. To explore the relationship between implicit biases and perfectionism and how they shape our experiences and interactions within our communities. This objective will help participants gain a deeper understanding of the relationship between implicit biases and perfectionism and how they can impact our experiences and interactions with others in our communities.
  3. To gain practical tools and techniques for overcoming the obstacles of perfectionism and promoting DEI, through the lens of self-confidence, vulnerability, and connection. This objective will equip participants with practical tools and techniques for promoting DEI and overcoming the obstacles of perfectionism. Participants will learn how to apply self-confidence, vulnerability and connection in their own lives to drive progress towards a more inclusive future.

Target audience:

This presentation is an invitation to the members of the Nova Southeastern University (NSU) community to delve into the complexities of perfectionism and its impact on Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI). Join us in this exploration of a topic that is not only relevant to NSU, but to society at large.
