Using desorption electrospray ionization to study reaction intermediates

Event Name/Location

242nd National Meeting of the American-Chemical-Society (ACS) / Denver, Colorado, USA

Presentation Date

8-31-2011

Document Type

Conference Presentation

Description

We demonstrate that desorption electrospray ionization (DESI) can intercept reaction intermediates in solution on the millisecond timescale. Here we employ this method to study the reaction mechanisms of various organometallic complexes relevant to transfer hydrogenation and H2O oxidation catalysis. Support from the Air Force Office of Scientific Research is gratefully acknowledged.
