NSU Experience

While also an alumnus of the Farquhar Honors College and the College of Psychology (B.S. Neuroscience), being a member of the Halmos College allowed me to go beyond the standard curriculum for my biology major by allowing me to indulge in research. In fact, my first steps into research started with Dr. Schmitt and Dr. Sikora in our Protein Modeling course, which I returned to as a peer mentor a year later. Since then, the creative research process has inspired me to pursue both quantitative and qualitative research as an undergrad, with at least one primary authorship in either realm. Additionally, the Biology Student Award helped reimburse my first out-of-state conference (and also traveling to another state!) at the Biennial Conference of Chemical Education (BCCE) 2024 hosted by the University of Kentucky. My gratitude goes to the HCAS faculty and donors who have been part of my amazing journey.
