Dan Barbara, MEd, DHSc
Dan Barbara currently serve as Executive Director of Forsyth Futures, a community data and research non-profit organization committed to studying the Forsyth County, North Carolina community and providing key data and evidence in support of sound community decision-making. Dan is both a trained health scientist and educator and holds a Doctor of Health Science degree from Nova Southeastern University (2017). Dan’s prior practical experience in the health and public health sectors include service as the Executive Director of the Department of Health and Social Services for the Colorado River Indian Tribes of west central Arizona and southern California, an extremely challenging billet involving the provision of direct services to one of America’s most socially and economically disadvantaged populations. Dan also holds a Master of Education degree from Regent University in Virginia Beach, Virginia and began his professional career as an elementary classroom teacher, advancing to administration at the district, county, and state level, after which he entered local government service in La Paz County, Arizona and oversaw community resource development services, the local food banks, the county library system, and many adult education activities. Dan completed his undergraduate training at Southwestern Assemblies of God University in Waxahachie, Texas, earning a Bachelor of Science degree.
