Abstract

Voice-recognition software is designed for one user at a time, requiring a researcher to speak all of a recorded interview to achieve transcription. Embodied Transcription utilizes the researcher’s 9 body as an interpretive epistemological tool. This seminar will offer an experience of Embodied Transcription including vocalization and resonation which may foster “knowing in the body,” enriching understanding of the self-as-researcher, and participant/researcher relationships.
