Effectively identifying patient risk factors has signiﬁ cant implications on the quality of care, safe delivery of surgical care, and speedy recovery of patients undergoing elective open intestinal resection. This study assessed the effect of preoperative patient proﬁ les on elective open intestinal resection outcomes and identiﬁ ed independent signiﬁ cant predictors of in-hospital mortality, in-hospital complications, and prolonged length of stay (LOS).
